II. Build IT Organization Transformation PlanThe IT Organizational Transformation Plan is comprised of various tasks, as identified on the ITOT Methodology page, necessary to mobilize the project, design the new organization and transition to the new design. These tasks are divided into a mobilization phase and a design and transformation phase as shown below. Additional steps should be identified and added to this plan as required by a given project. Task Definition Phase I: Project Mobilization
Deliverable: Organizational modeling, design approach and methodology to be used in the IT transformation project. Deliverable: Identification of central IT coordinating council to oversee development of and transition to the new IT organization along with description of roles and responsibilities of this council. Deliverable: Identification of central design team and description of their roles and responsibilities.
Task Definition Phase II: Organizational Design & Transformation
Deliverable: A model of the new IT infrastructure, minimally detailed out to at least two levels from the core IT council hub. Deliverable: A concise statement of purpose for the new IT organization and core functional hubs comprising the new IT organization. Deliverable: A concise set of guiding principles for the new IT organization and the core functional hubs comprising the new IT organization. Deliverable: A definition of the roles, responsibilities & cultural changes required to deploy the purpose, principles and new IT organizational model. Deliverable: A constitution containing all of the content developed in prior steps along with guidelines for ratifying and amending the constitution. Deliverable: A list of methods, processes and tools that help facilitate communication and collaboration across a hub-based infrastructure.
